So this is the hotel that we stayed in.
Yes I know it sounds luxury for a mission trip but yeah HAHA it is quite.
So on the left is my uncle
(which I call "KAI YE", which means God father but yeah he is my mom's elder brother)
The right is Uncle Seng Gee.
So coincidentally we found some gospel book at the lobby
Which made me very happy knowing that the work of spreading the gospel is going on quite well in Sibu, Sarawak
Funny how i like to take pictures of "shadows"
My KAI MA checking out the "view"
Which mainly consists of the road side hawkers HAHA :P
Scenes of Sarawak Road
The Night Market
(Which we call Pasar Malam)
First time
So their DimSum isn't as good tbh haha no offense Sibu
But again it was cool seeing so many Dim Sum shops there
But they don't sell "Lou Mai Kai"
So guys, these are PORKKKKKK
Yeah various parts
This is obviously the head
The blood
HAHA!! This is.. PORK TONGUE
(EWWWW I know)
The market
(At first it looked kinda scary as it looked a little like erhmm.. Dead somethings)
What intrigued us the most is this.
They sell their chicken by wrapping them around with newspapers.
We asked they lady why they did this and her reason was because it was to prevent them from dirtying the place as they were not allowed to use cages.
(POOR Chickenss)
Okay the picture isn't really clear but apparently the thorns are like ropes.. They look really long..
Get it? *whispers* They aren't pointy or thorny durians:P
Bustling at its seam
Hoovers
Its a Christian centre
The Church
Pray for Malaysia:)
So after some "jalan-jalan" session around Sibu ( It is really a small place guys) , we decided to head back to the hotel and just chill for awhile. About 7.00pm, we had our dinner with a Pastor, called Pastor Ting. She's a dynamic pastor and she's working on the Sibu youth projects and of course the CPI, which is the church planting program.
So this is our dinner dish.
This is call the raw Sarawak fish. It tastes a bit sour and sweet very much like "Chin Char Lou"
Duck
And the sauces are peppermint and ginger garlic.
This was nice too.
Ferns and Sambal.
Apparently the food was nice.
Its abit like MaLaiFengKuang
Sarawak and Vege
So it shocked us knowing that there are actually coffee places in Sibu.
Some crepe cheesecakes
So this was the first day and everything went smooth. So apparently I wouldn't call the first day a mission trip cause it is way too smooth. I mean, its more like a holiday haha. Gonna blog more about the following days so stay tune guys:)
Love lots,
Nicole
